La Policía Nacional ha detenido en Casares Costa a cinco hombres de entre 32 y 45 años como presuntos autores de los delitos de detención ilegal y homicidio. Los arrestados son presuntos miembros de una organización criminal asentada en el Campo de Gibraltar supuestamente dedicada al tráfico de drogas y, presuntamente, detuvieron ilegalmente a un hombre en Estepona cuyo cuerpo sin vida fue posteriormente encontrado en Algeciras. Los hechos ocurrieron en la noche del 2 de octubre de 2018, cuando un grupo de personas armadas, cubiertos con pasamontañas y con guantes, llegaron en un vehículo a la localidad de Estepona, bajándose en las inmediaciones de un restaurante en cuya terraza se encontraba la víctima cenando. Al verlos, el hombre intentó huir corriendo pero no pudo evitar ser secuestrado. Horas más tarde aparecía muerto en las inmediaciones del hospital de Algeciras con evidentes signos de violencia.

The National Police has arrested at Casares Costa five men between 32 and 45 years as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of illegal detention and homicide. Those arrested are alleged members of a criminal organization based in the Campo de Gibraltar allegedly dedicated to drug trafficking and, allegedly, illegally arrested a man in Estepona whose lifeless body was later found in Algeciras. The events occurred on the night of October 2, 2018, when a group of armed persons, wearing balaclavas and gloves, arrived in a vehicle to the town of Estepona, getting off in the vicinity of a restaurant on the terrace where the victim dining. Upon seeing them, the man tried to run away but could not avoid being kidnapped. Hours later he was found dead in the vicinity of the hospital in Algeciras with obvious signs of violence.
