El consejero de Salud y Familias de la Junta de Andalucía, Jesús Aguirre, ha avanzado que su departamento pondrá en marcha un plan de choque para reducir las listas de espera el 1 de abril. A partir de ese día se comenzarán a llamar a las personas que lleven más de un año esperando. Preferentemente la Junta quiere actuar de forma en las provincias de Almería, Granada y Huelva, en las que el diagnóstico previo ha revelado que se acumula el máximo de hospitales con mayor porcentaje de personas en lista. El plan de choque está dotado con 25,5 millones de euros y permitirá que se realicen operaciones quirúrgicas también los sábados llevándose a cabo con la red y el personal al cien por cien. Aguirre ha asegurado que aboga por la ocupación de camas postquirúrgicas al máximo, equipos volantes, potenciación de los hospitales comarcales, y, si se requiere, externalizaciones al sector privado tal y como hacía el anterior gobierno que gastó 155 millones.
